About Us

‘But first, yoga’ was founded in 2024 in Ramsgate in the UK. The aim was to build a brand that made yoga accessible to the masses and encouraged people to incorporate it into their lives regardless of their age, gender or spiritual disposition. The ethos is simple, whatever you have going on, whatever is causing you stress or tension, whether it be physical, spiritual or emotional, by taking the time to stop and say to yourself, ‘but first, yoga’, you can clear your head, relax your body and afford yourself the ability to tackle whatever the day throws at you. 

 

The purpose of ‘but first, yoga’ is therefore to share the simplicity of the practice, making it appear less daunting to those who are yet to try it, and encouraging people to implement it into their daily routines. 

 

From our message to the designs we put on our products, we want to keep it all less complicated. Our apparel is made from fair-trade materials that are either fully organic, recycled or a combination of the two, and our mats are made from natural rubber and are fully biodegradable. We also strive to use local businesses as much as we can, whether it be freelance yoga instructors, photographers or graphic designers, as so much of yoga is about building a sense of community and supporting those around us.
